App Access

Accessing the App

The app runs directly in your browser from the URL provided by your supervisor. No download, installation, or account is required. Simply open the URL each time you need to use the app.

The URL can be bookmarked in your browser for quicker access. Alternatively, it can be added to your device's home screen as an icon — this is optional but provides a more convenient launch method.

Adding to Home Screen (Optional)

Adding the app to your home screen creates a shortcut icon that launches the app directly without needing to open a browser and navigate to the URL. The app works identically whether launched from a home screen icon or opened directly via the URL.

Select your device type for instructions:

1
Make sure you're using Safari (not Chrome or Edge) on iPhone for the best home screen experience.
2
Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen — it looks like a box with an arrow pointing up.
3
Scroll down in the share sheet and tap "Add to Home Screen".
4
The name will show as M3 Daily Checks. Tap Add in the top right.
5
The app icon will appear on your home screen. Opening it from there launches it full-screen.

User Guide

Overview

The M3 Daily Checks app is a browser-based inspection tool for conducting and recording daily facility rounds across Stage 1 Phase 1 (S1P1), Stage 1 Phase 10 (S1P10) and Stage 2 (S2). It requires no installation and operates directly from the provided URL in any standard mobile browser. Check data is saved on your phone first, then sent to the shared night record (the M3 online database) as soon as there is signal, so every tech sees the same round.

Accessing the App

Open the URL provided by your supervisor in your browser (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android). The app loads immediately — no download or installation is required. The URL can be bookmarked in your browser for quicker access, or optionally added to your home screen as a shortcut. See Settings → App Access for instructions.

Selecting a Round Type

The home screen presents three round types: Stage 1 Phase 1 (S1P1), Stage 1 Phase 10 (S1P10) and Stage 2 (S2). Tap the relevant stage to proceed. If a round is already in progress for that stage on this device, a progress indicator will be displayed on the card.

Starting a Round

Enter your full name and select your shift (Day or Night), then tap Start New Round. Your name will be retained for future sessions on this device. If a round was started earlier today, the start screen will display current progress — tap Resume Round to continue, or New Round to discard the current session and begin again.

Navigating Areas

Areas are grouped by level. Each area card displays the total number of items and the current check status — unchecked, in progress, all fine, or faults recorded. Tap an area card to open its equipment list. A summary bar at the bottom of the screen shows the running totals for Fine, Fault, and Remaining items across the entire round.

Searching for an Item

Use the search bar at the top of the areas screen to locate a specific item by name, asset ID, or area name. Results update as you type and display each item's current check status. Tap any result to open the check screen for that item directly. Tapping Back from the check screen will return you to the areas screen.

Checking an Item

Each item displays its name, asset ID, and equipment category. For Stage 1 items, the required check procedure and expected result are also shown for reference.

Tap Fine to mark the item as satisfactory. Tap Fault to record a fault — a fault details form will appear below. Tap Save & Next to save and proceed to the next unchecked item in the area, or Save & Back to Area to return to the equipment list.

Recording a Fault

When an item is marked as Fault, a comment is required describing the observed condition. Up to five photographs may be attached per fault using either the device camera or the photo gallery. Fault details can be saved as a PDF directly from the check screen using the button at the bottom of the fault form. A comment must be entered before this option becomes available.

Marking an Area as Fine

When unchecked items remain in an area, a Mark All Fine bar is displayed at the top of the equipment list. Tapping it will prompt for confirmation before marking all unchecked items in that area as Fine. Items already recorded as Fault will not be affected.

Submitting a Round

Tap Submit from the areas screen at any time to open the Round Summary. This screen displays total checked, fine, and fault counts, completion status, and all recorded faults with comments and photos.

From the summary screen the following actions are available:

Selected faults — print or download PDFs and photos for the faults you have ticked. Use the checkboxes to select individual faults or use Select All.

All faults — the same actions applied to every recorded fault.

This round only — exports PDFs for faults that were newly raised or updated during this round only, excluding any carried faults that were not touched.

Full Report — generates a complete printable report including all faults with detail, a condensed list of all fine items grouped by area, and a list of any unchecked items. This is the recommended output for formal round sign-off.

Offline Use

The app keeps working in dead spots. Checks, comments and photos are saved on the phone and sent to the shared night record as soon as there is signal (watch the bar at the bottom). The night runs until 07:00 Melbourne time.

Session Recovery

In the event of an unexpected browser closure or device crash, check progress is automatically recovered when the app is reopened and the same stage is selected. A notification will be displayed on the start screen confirming the number of checks that have been restored. Tap Resume Round to continue.

Clearing Round Data

Round data for the current stage can be cleared via Settings → Clear Round Data. In the online version this only clears this phone's saved copy: the shared night record stays on the server and comes back at the next sync. Faults already sent are not lost.
